The craft beer scene in Australia is growing at a rapid pace each year, with a new brewery opening up on average every 6 days. Chris Hayton from Sydney has decided to have a crack at it but found it hard to find information out there. So he decided to go out and talk to the commercial brewing community and has recorded all his conversations with brewery owners and professionals, sharing his learnings via a podcast to other aspiring and newly established brewery owners.
With the original BMAB series completed, the podcast now serves as a platform to share interviews with industry professionals working and consulting within the brewing world, including technical information on beer & brewing science, industry technology, savvy business operations and stories from some of the most successful breweries in modern day.
This is the introduction episode to the podcast. Chris explains his motivations of wanting to do the podcast and starting a brewery, as well as outlining topics we will be covering throughout the podcast.
Having an obsession for information, Chris found that there was a massive gap in his part of the world on how to go about starting a brewery, as well as being delivered in a way to provide a foundation for the layman to understand and act upon it.
